I have worn a lot of hats when it comes to the writing industry: magazine editor, online editor, feature writer, publicist and communications director.
Over the course of nearly two decades, I have penned and published more than a hundred articles and written for nearly every sort of media, including newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs.
My career began with print publications and their online counterparts at a time when online editorial was still coming into its own. After cutting my teeth as an editor at a leading design-industry magazine, I switched gears and became a publicist for a book-publishing company where I oversaw the print-media campaigns for books spanning the topics of parenting, self-help, religion, relationships, fitness, and cooking.
As a former editor and published children’s author, I am firm believer in the power of critique, which is why I’ve worked with writers of all levels, from kidlit novices just getting their footing in the industry to those with a contract in-hand to help them polish their manuscript before submitting it back to editors.
